  • 2nd permit: £26

Free Permits

You might be able to get a free permit if you’re on Universal Credit, another means-tested benefit, or have a Blue Badge. You’ll still need to apply and show proof.

Once You Apply

You’ll get your permit within 10 days, but you can park right away using a temporary reference number. Just write it clearly on paper and stick it in the passenger-side front windscreen until the real permit arrives.

Visitor Scratchcards

Your permit includes 10 one-day visitor cards so friends or family can park too. Extra books cost £17, and you can get up to 10 extra books per year. You can still get 1 free book per year even if you don’t have a resident permit.

Scratchcards or permits must go in the passenger-side front windscreen, and be clearly visible

Where You Can Park

Having a permit doesn’t guarantee a space outside your house, but you can park anywhere in the 1B permit holder areas on the following streets:

Alexandra Terrace; Allison Place; Allison Street; Ashlin Grove; Avenue Terrace; Charles Street West; Depot Street; Gresham Street; Hampton Street; Nelson Street; Newland Street West; North Parade; Richmond Road; Rudgard Lane; South Parade; St Faiths Street; The Park; Victoria Street; Victoria Terrace; Wellington Street; West Parade; Whitehall Grove; Whitehall Terrace; and Yarborough Road.

Don’t park in other zones; you could get a ticket!

Extra Parking Perks

Your permit also lets you park in any City of Lincoln Council pay-and-display car park:

  • 5pm to 9:30am, Monday to Saturday

  • All day on Sundays

  • On Bank Holidays, from 5pm the night before until 9:30am

Permit Length & Changes

All permits last 12 months from the date you buy them. If you need to update your details or get a replacement there’s a £5 admin fee.

Tradespeople Parking

If you’ve got builders or tradespeople working at your home, they can apply for a parking waiver for their vehicle. It’s best to sort this well ahead of time. Just email: waiverpermits@lincolnshire.gov.uk
